“Today, it is estimated that over 10 Million people from Ukraine have been displaced, we have organized this event as a way for people to reflect on this reality and to show solemn solidarity with those suffering.
We invite you to join the community at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park Pavilion – to walk in support of Ukraine and its besieged people.
The route is 4km in total starting at the Pavilion, following the Fraser Pathway and ending at the Yalenka Ukrainian Hall at 933 Patricia Blvd.
Please consider wearing yellow and blue, carry a flag, or make a sign or carry a backpack with only your essentials and reflect on what it would be like to be forced to turn away from your home and flee – never knowing if you will make it to your next destination, if you will find safety or if you will ever see your home, family, and friends again.
Join as we walk for the people of Ukraine. Show those considering Prince George and region as a place for respite or relocation that this community cares.
Please feel free to share this event with anyone who might be interested in joining.
Date: 2pm, Saturday April 16th
Location: Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park Pavilion
